The Broken String

In 2021, Dwight was inspired to partner with producer/musical director, Philip Smedley, Jr. to develop a few of his original compositions with the intentions of sharing a message of hope, peace and love for all people.
This summer, for the first time as a bandleader, Dwight will present his freshman project to stages across the country. Joined by his Ohio-based Septet, they will perform original compositions from his debut CD entitled, "The Broken String".
During the high-energy performances this summer, Dwight and the band will bring the “Broken String” songbook to life and create an intimate experience for listeners to enjoy. They will also pay homage to his former boss, New Orleans Blues Legend and 6-time Grammy Award-winning artist Dr. John. “By The Bayou” is a direct tipping of the hat to the late “Night Tripper.”
